Tis the season..........

Gettin the fruit loops ready .........

We do BELIEVE this to be the REAL santa!

The REAL santa

We saw him. We did. Our mission to see santa went as so......We went to Ridgedale mall. We met our good friend Julie there who was waiting anxiously with her camera. When I approached her I knew the news wasn't good by the look on her face. She said that santa left at 5:00. Perfect. Watch read 5:06. The regular Santa that usually had resided in the big red chair was being replaced by a hearing impaired Santa for the deaf children. (Nice gesture, dont get me wrong) BUT, I had driven from St. Mikes all the way down so my children could get off their chest their deepest wants and desires. I was half tempted to do it anyway. I wanted to say "it's all a farse anyway, it doesnt matter if he asks you what you want for christmas" But, fun is fun. SO, we drove to Eden Prairie Center. Which worked out just fabulous because of the golden arches in the food court. The real santa was worth the extra miles south. His beard was yellowing with age and we know (At least Brett is convinced) that it HAD to be the real deal because when Brett handed him his list.....Santa didn't give it back. He kept it. A fake "mall santa" WOULD NOT need to keep his list. Tis the season to.......BELIEVE

The other day I was feelilng quite sick. According to a hand-out from the Elementary school I had all of the symptoms of the influenza. FUN. Blake went down stairs and put together a healthy snack for me to eat because he was so worried about me. He put a piece of "square" cheese on a paper towel, filled up a kid cup with water and added one ice cube and also included an apple. He grabbed a tv tray and brought it to me all by himself. I was so proud, (he was quite proud as well)....... My hard work is paying off. So sensitive, so smart. I have no doubt in my mind that one day while I rest my head at the old folks home I will be well taken care of.

I should probably mention that Brett did bring up a wet wipe in case I needed to blow my nose and Mallory let me snuggle with her favorite animal of the day.

My kids used to ask me if super heroes were real and I used to say, "no, they are not." If asked again today I would say, "Yes, yes they definately are." Pictured here with proof of that...Our most favorite super hero on the planet, David!

Light the night walk ~ Sept. 30th

Many of you may know that every year for the past couple of years we have done the"Light the Night" walk to help raise money for the Leukemia/Lymphoma society. The walk is short (about 3 miles) but what we gain is far from small. The light the night walk is named as such because it is done in the evening and we all get to carry illuminated balloons. The survivors have a different color then the rest. I wish Jim (my stepdad) could be walking with us with the balloon that screams I beat this thing but he lost his battle. We carry a "in memory" of balloon in his honor. The kids have been asking when Jim's balloon walk is.....I have to find it somewhere in my heart to tell them that it is now also to support one of their very best friends, David. I'm looking for pledges for the walk big or small. Every penny counts. If you would like to help support us and the Leukemia and Lymphoma society please contact me. The walk is on September 30th.

David,We love you buddy!

Just found out tonight that David (one of the familys all time favorites) has been diagnosed with Leukemia. (AML) Please say a little prayer for David and his mama Diane. This is gonna be a long hard road for everyone!

All grow"ed" up

My friend Katie and I came across this poem when our babies were actually "babies" and she filed it away and had it posted on her blog. It hit me even harder now that the kids are older. Wow, time does go so fast. Thought some of you would enjoy reading this. Hope it doesn't make you cry!! Thanks Katie!!

You were six months old and full of fun,
With a blink of an eye, you suddenly were 1..
There were many things we were going to do,
But I turned my head and you turned two...
At two, you were very dependent on me,
But independence took over when you were three...
Your third birthday, another year I tried to ignore,
But when I lit the candles there weren't 3, but four...
Four was the year that you really thrived,
Why, look at you now, you're already five...
Now you are ready for books and rules,
This is the year that you go to school...
The big day came; you were anxious to go,
We walked to the bus, going oh so slow...
As you climbed aboard and waved goodbye,
I felt a lump in my throat and a tears stung my eyes...
Time goes so fast, its hard to believe,
That yesterday you were home here with me...
And tomorrow when the bus brings you home & you jump to the ground
You'll be wearing your cap and graduation gown...
So I'm holding on to these moments as hard as I can,
Because the next time I look,
I'll be seeing a man!

- THE STATE FAIR -

What is "fair" about the Fair? We stood in line for the quesadillas, smoothies, cinnamon rolls, corn dogs, the bathroom (several times), the sky ride and made our way to the miracle of birth barn just in time for it to close. We got to park 32 miles away from the gate. Some lady "let" us pay her $8.oo to use her driveway. Ok, I sound like the grinch. It really wasn't at all bad. We were there and gone in a blink of an eye. (4 hours) Long enough if you ask me. I hate crowds. But, I do love to see my babies smile!!!!!!!!!

The breakfast happy meal !!!!!!!!

Did you know that happy meals aren't just for lunch anymore?? The snack pack at Krispy Kreme comes in a box that screams happy.

Besides the drink, a straw, and some stickers along with a fine tatoo are included. Note: Mallo loves the tatoo and refuses to let any scrubbing take place. She has gotten many comments on it. Maybe for her big day at Preschool we can talk her into a fresh start.

Strawberry Shortcake made an appearance at the Mall of America. Seeing as tho my girl is totally in to "A-cake" and we had missed Hello Kitty's big day, there was no question if we should go meet her or not. I never thought she would let me forget it but once she was in Strawberry's arms the thoughts of the white kitty were put to rest.

Later, after we got home......Mallory said why didn't "hers" talk to me? I said, "uh, ummm well..." Then she said, "Was her head out of batteries???" Pictured below is Mallo and her supportive brothers.

Do you see what I see?

Look at the man on the left in his overalls. I looked once and had to look twice. It's SANTA. He was sighted in Illinois. This is the real deal. Know how I know for sure? Look what is on his trailer. His SLEIGH!!!!!!! Must of upgraded. Wonder who he is talking to?

One of the cutest things to leave Blake's mouth was after his daddy gave him a kiss on the cheek. He quickly wiped the kiss away and Chris said, "What did you do that for?" And the little man looked up at him and said: "To get ready for the next one." Come on, you gotta admit that is way precious.
My very, very, thought intensive (is that a word) son Brett said to me the other day: "Mom it actually shouldn't be called BACK to school, beacuse some of the kids aren't going BACK to school. They should call it something like GOING to school." Sounds like it is time to put the brain power into some R,R and R. 26 days to go until they are "going" to school.

A day at the beach!!!!
